This means extreme temperatures can build up, affecting health and safety. Gulf O Flex’s closed cell elastomeric insulation technology traps air, allowing heat transfer to occur. This process is environmentally friendly as it utilizes less energy, and reduces maintenance costs.

Implementation of closed cell materials include sound absorbers, barriers, vibration dampers and decouplers. It keeps sound originating from systems between 250 Hz to 500 Hz, considered low frequency noise.

Proper implementation of closed cell insulation protects the refrigeration system from breakdown and water vapor. As the cells are tightly packed together, it prevents moisture from affecting the whole material (wicking).

Gulf O Flex® Installation

Every system is unique in their construction, but the method to install our insulation is all the same. Careful consideration must be taken to ensure that the insulation is unchanged during the setting up process. Depending on the equipment, there are various methods of installation. Items Required:

Surface Preparation

All equipment must be dry and clean from pollutants and rust. The outer surface especially must be free of pollutants for the insulation to be as effective as possible.

The Gulf O Glue solution must be stored in a cool environment before work begins. Once the can of glue is opened, it must be stirred well. Note that they need to be mixed from time to time to prevent heavy components of the glue from sinking to the bottom of the can.

Measuring and Cutting

After preparing the surface the next step is to measure & cut the tubes & sheets to required length. This step requires a set of sharp knives and a pre-calibrated cutting template. The knife must be put in low angle to make the cut.

Different types of cuts are needed for Gulf O Flex® elastomeric insulation on different kinds of bends. The most common form of the cuts is usually a two-piece 90, three-piece 90 and a three-piece T cut. These three types of cuts usually take care of insulation of all types of bends.

Gluing & Making Shapes

After the pieces are cut in appropriate parts, its time to glue them to create the requires shapes of different types of bends. Apply glue to the complementary parts to be joined with the help of a clean soft brush. Leave it for two minutes to dry and then join the pieces together smoothly so that no air can pass through it.

Gulf O Glue is an adhesive specially developed to bond Gulf O Flex® insulation. It joins the surfaces reliably and safely at medium temperatures of up to +110°C. The bond is resistant to weathering and ageing.

Application

After the glue dries and the shape is formed. the next step is to wrap the tubes around the pipes, ducts and other fabrications. The high-quality material of the GULF.O.FLEX tubes or the sheet is flexible & conforms to all forms of shapes & sizes.
