Perfect Rubber NBR Insulation Can Help Preserve Indoor Air Quality
IAQ is up to the building owners’ commitment
Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) has been a growing concern in the sustainable design and renovation of commercial buildings, with the objective for providing clearer, uncontaminated interior air for the building’s occupants. Achieving these IAQ goals requires sifting through an assortment of specialized building products—one in particular is mechanical insulation. Selecting the right Rubber insulation for air handlers such as duct liners or wraps can bring multiple benefits to the HVAC system mainly recognized in its value of thermal and acoustical properties. In addition, fiber-free and mold-resistant materials can have a positive impact on the air that the occupants breathe.
Proactive against potential threats to occupant air quality
HVAC air handlers and ductwork can be a source of fungi and other microbial pollutants. This is due to the threat of water vapor creating condensation on AC ducts when the dew point temperature of the ambient air is higher than the operating temperature of the HVAC system. If moisture from condensation is present, water absorption into the insulation may lead to mold spore growth resulting in contaminated air and poor indoor air quality. Choosing closed cell insulation instead of open cell rubber insulation can make a difference. Open cell structure insulation, like fiberglass, readily absorbs water allowing for mold and other microbial growth. For this reason, these materials often have a thin moisture retarder applied on the surface, but the moisture retarder is easily damaged during installation and maintenance leaving the entire insulation system susceptible to mold growth. Closed cell insulation, like GulfoFlex, does not absorb water. Therefore, mold growth cannot occur beneath the surface of the rubber insulation. In addition, the smooth surface of closed cell foam is easily cleanable so the possibility of surface mold can be eliminated by cleaning surface dirt that can act as a food source for mold.
Gulf O Flex – Rubber Insulation NBR
Rubber Insulation is the most widely used standard for determining the material properties of elastomer insulation. It was formed as part of a working group to develop a standard for the use of insulating materials for insulation of HVAC systems and duct systems. NBR insulation is made of sheet and there are various materials, including fiberglass, foam rubber and polyethylene foam, all of which offer the possibility of processing different pipe widths. Foam rubber, also known as a sponge or expanded rubber, refers to a type of rubber produced with a foam agent to create an air-filled matrix structure. These types of insulation are available in many different materials, including cotton foil, polypropylene foam and foam insulation. can reliably protect against condensation and effectively prevent energy losses. There is a high degree of thermal drift or the ability to expand as the temperature changes, but this can decrease as air replaces the gas with lower conductivity, a phenomenon known as “thermal drift aging.” Most heat dissipation occur in the insulation materials produced, because the r-value remains unchanged until the foam is damaged. Use appropriate adhesive and tape to seal potential air and moisture entry points. Check your pipe insulation to make sure it is still in good condition and fully covered. Before installing rubber insulation, the pipe should be dry before using a cleaner or something moist, and be checked again after each use of the insulation.
Most building materials, including fiberglass, foam and cellulose, have E values above 0.70, and reflective insulation materials typically have E values between 0 and 03, which is lower and better. It may sound like a no-brainer to choose insulation materials with a high R value, but from an economic point of view, it may be better to choose an Rubber insulation material with a lower thermal conductivity and increase the strength of the insulation’s effect on the walls. Elastomers Nitrile rubber insulation NBR, commonly known as foam insulation, is often the preferred choice due to its high moisture resistance.
Using Of Rubber Insulation NBR
Insulation is a widely used insulation for sloping areas such as walls, floors, ceilings, walls and ceilings. It is ideal for use in refrigerators, air conditioners, heat exchangers and other applications. Loose – panels insulation was one of the most popular and widely used – used insulation materials for slopes and sloping areas of buildings.
Other IAQ benefits of Gulf O Flex Insulation:
• Fiber-free so it doesn’t release unwanted particulate into the breathing environment.
• Includes built-in Microban antimicrobial technology – proven to prevent uncontrolled growth of mold and mildew on the insulation.
• The smooth surface is easy to clean, won’t trap dirt
• Gulfoflex insulation is an environmentally friendly.
• Gulfoflex insulation are CFC Free, flexible elastomeric thermal insulation.
Gulf O Flex NBR Rubber insulation, provide a cost-effective, high-quality, cost-effective and easy-to-use insulation material. It’s important to pay special attention to pipes in unheated areas, as these pipes are more likely to freeze. If you think your water pipes need more protection or if your pipes freeze during the winter, just connect with us! Gulf-O-Flex® insulation can help.
